Community-Engaged Art at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum

The Joy Labs has been involved in creating engaging art activities as a part of the Minnesota Marine Art Museum's Seasonal Saturdays and is a regular guest facilitating the Art of LIving: Ride the Wave mindful art workshops inspired by current exhibits at the museum.

“You know how we all picture that one super cool friend, who really listens and truly wishes nothing but the best for you?  Meet Sarah Johnson.  I’ve been working around, and near, and with Sarah for more than five years now.  We have hired her to lead countless programs at our art museum, and I’ve yet to meet a participant who doesn’t want to be in her presence more after engaging with her.  And engage you will!  Sarah is a dynamo with a knack for simplifying some pretty important life skills.  She makes spaces comfortable, warmly invites participation, and facilitates meaningful conversations with humor and grace.  She’ll tell you that she looks like a Muppet, but don’t be fooled; she is serious about helping people discover their joy.”
